Krabi is increasingly popular tourist destination which is considered one of the most beautiful regions in Thailand. Krabi has it all, from the famous towering limestone karsts to world class beaches, coral islands, temples, markets, sumptous food, nightlife and shopping. Krabi is also one of the world's premier destinations for rock climbing eg the Railay peninsula and scuba diving centred at the coral reefs of the Andaman Sea. Unlike the more popular adjacent Phuket, Krabi is still much quieter and less crowded in the tourist areas but the tourists numbered rapidly in the recent times. Krabi still takes effort to preserve its unspoilt nature and maintain the peace and friendliness of its people throughout the province. Getting Krabi is no problem. The most convenient method of arrival is by plane. With the number of international budget airlines eg. AirAsia, Tiger Airways serving in this region, more tourists are expected to arrive here. Krabi has a small and fairly new airport about 15 kilometres from the town, and there are daily flights from Bangkok.
Thai Airways operates daily direct flights from Bangkok, AirAsia from Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. Tiger Airways flies direct to/from Singapore and Darwin. Bus will take you from Bangkok to Sura Thani and there to Krabi. This journey will take about 10-12 hours. Another suggestion is to come from Phuket by car that takes about 2 to 21/2 hour drive on a very good road. There are also regular buses from Hat Yai if arriving from the Northern West Malaysia.
